Well, Blizzard announced Diablo 3 over the weekend. It’s basically the same gameplay, except they’re improving and expanding on everything like graphics, items, etc. You can’t go wrong with that. Blizzard is smart and they know their big franchises have huge installed bases and there’s no reason to fix something that isn’t broken. Don’t rock the boat, just polish everything and make it better. Same deal as StarCraft 2.

Vantage Point
I recently watched Vantage Point and it was a really a mixed bag. I guess it was an okay movie. It was interesting to see each person’s individual point of view but there are so many plot holes or plot devices that were just really weak.
You really have to watch the movie to understand this review. I just can’t review this movie without tearing apart the plot. Everything else like the acting and the action sequences were decent and pretty good actually.

Yahoo is Screwed
So Yahoo officially announced that its talks with Microsoft have concluded they have once again failed to reach any kind of deal. There are reports that Yahoo may soon announce a search deal with Google. They’ll basically be outsourcing search to Google. Throwing away a core competency key to its long-term success for short-term gain. In my eyes I feel like Yahoo really botched this whole thing.

35 Articles of Impeachment of President George W. Bush
http://kucinich.house.gov/News/DocumentSingle.aspx?DocumentID=93581
Bill Clinton got impeached for lying about the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal. Bush lied to the whole country and the world to justify launching a costly, poorly planned, preemptive, and ILLEGAL war. The US invaded a sovereign nation that posed no threat, in violation of domestic and international law and the UN charter. Regardless of everything else this war criminal has done, why hasn’t he been impeached yet? It’s shameful that neither Democratic leadership nor mainstream media are willing to pay more attention to this. This isn’t about politics, it’s a matter of duty to this country – Bush AND Cheney need to be held accountable for their crimes.

2008 French Open Men’s Final, Federer v. Nadal
Wow, I did not expect Federer to be so thoroughly dismantled. Although I knew Federer had to play an excellent match to win, I honestly believed he had a chance. Nadal is just too damn good on clay.

Kobe Bryant Better Than Michael Jordan? HELL NO!
I just saw this article on the NBC Sports website:
Better than MJ? Kobe enters the debateI’m sorry, Kobe is a great player and I think he’s the best all-around player in the league today but he does not replace Michael Jordan as the greatest player ever. Anyone familiar with Jordan’s various accomplishments and statistics knows that Kobe does not stack up.

PayPal Phishing
I recently got a spoofed email attempting to phish my PayPal account details. I think of myself as pretty adept at identifying phishing emails but this one came at just the right time. This email came from PayPal’s abuse department, indicating that there was some recent suspicious activity on my account and provided a link where I could log in and presumably verify my information.

Waste of Time, Effort, and Money
I find that often with mid-sized businesses on up, there’s a lot of wasted time and lost productivity, mainly due to multiple layers of management and departments. Things like status meetings and conference calls are held to update a bunch of people who add no value and can’t contribue to the process or task at hand. Those very same people don’t understand technical details but insist on being updated on them, even when said details won’t help them in decision-making. I often see excessive micro-management. Or maybe it’s just too much adherence to the status quo and traditional way of doing things in corporate environments. Or maybe it’s just incompetence.
