NBC’s Coverage of 2008 French Open Men’s Semifinal Was Awful
NBC, you suck. Your coverage of this year’s French Open Men’s Semifinal matches was AWFUL. You grab the rights to broadcast but you do an absolutely horrible job, making it thoroughly un-enjoyable. Instead of airing at 7 AM to cover Nadal v. Djokovic live, NBC obviously aired their stupid morning show. They started airing the French Open at 10 AM and decide to air the tape of an already completed match (Nadal v. Djokovic). Not only that, over 3 hours they couldn’t even air the complete match because literally half of the 3 hour period was filled with commercials. Maybe more! Seriously, I’d walk away when a commercial came on, come back, watch tennis for 30 seconds, and another commercial break would start.
They skipped almost the entire second set. Commercials aired every few minutes. It was so unbearably annoying. I understand TV networks need to make money but it was just so obvious NBC cared nothing about covering the French Open but instead just wanted to fill a weak spot in their schedule to sell ad slots.
I Hate People Who Park Their Car Selfishly
It really peeves me when I see people parking their car on the street taking up 2 spots when they could’ve easily moved their car forward or back to make room for another car. Such inconsiderate behavior really ticks me off. I have a female neighbor who does this ALL THE TIME. Her car is never parked straight either, it’s always at an angle and most of the time she doesn’t even straighten her wheels.
Car in the Shop, AIG Sucks
Okay so like the title says my car is currently in a body shop getting fixed up. I had an accident 3 months ago which was completely not my fault. I was coming out of an exit ramp and slowing down before merging onto the service road, when all of a sudden I got rear-ended. The car behind me obviously hit me and a third car hit the second car. Both were women. To quote the comedian Russell Peters - “I don’t create stereotypes, I just see them.” The ordeal begins…
Incompetence is Everywhere, I Can’t Stand It
Seriously. I can’t stand how incompetent people are that they can’t even complete simple tasks. In my last post I mentioned that I visited a med center to take care of some administrative issues regarding my mother’s health insurance. Well the reason for that visit was to fix a mispelling of my mother’s name on her insurance card. This was something that literally took 2 minutes but we were forced to go in person and wait an hour and a half.
Those Annoying Speaking Ads
Recently I’ve encountered (quite often now) an extremely annoying form of online advertising. When you view a web page with the ad, a high-pitched, annoying, high school girl voice comes on suddenly and says, “Congratulations, you have just won a free iPod nano!” or something to that effect. I think it drones on with instructions but I’ve never made it that far. I always close the site. Damn, these things are so annoying!
Sick of Apple/iPhone News
I’ve never been a fan of Apple. Maybe I’m too ingrained with the PC but I find the Apple interface harder to use. The only times I’ve used a Mac were when I was in public libraries and all the PC’s were taken. I don’t own any Apple products. I don’t own an iPod and I don’t plan on getting one. With that said I’m so sick of reading about the iPhone. I subscribe to over 100 RSS feeds and lately I’ve been seeing TONS of articles about the iPhone launch date.
I Hate Driving
I’m not afraid to say that one of my flaws might be my impatience in certain situations. Like driving. I don’t know what it is but I just want to get from point A to point B in the least amount of time with the least amount of obstructions. Other drivers and other cars just piss me off. Traffic lights annoy me. Stop signs annoy me. I hate having to hit the brake. It’s funny because I yell at other drivers but they can’t even hear me. A lot of things bother me about other drivers, and trust me there are a lot of bad drivers out there.
What the Heck?
Why is every media outlet going on about Anna Nicole Smith’s death? Okay fine she died - I’m sorry but I don’t know this person and from what I do know about her, I don’t get why this is significant news. Is there really nothing more important to report? I didn’t want to blog about it, but when it’s plastered on CNN.com for 2 days and counting and all over TV, it’s pretty annoying. Okay let’s move on to something more important please. NYtimes.com is much more respectable, barely even mentioning it (I believe I saw one link tucked away somewhere yesterday).

I’ve Hit the Jackpot
I’m announcing my retirement - it’s only $715,950 but I think I can stretch that and bum around for a decade. Okay, I’m kidding. The other day I got a piece of mail (direct mail, NOT email) that came from Spain (I’m not sure, but definitely somewhere in Europe). There’s no return address and I thought… that’s weird, I don’t know anyone in Europe.
So I’ve Gotten Sick
And it sucks. At first it was just really bad strep throat. It was uncomfortable enough to keep me up at night. I started taking antibiotics and downed a bag of cough drops in about 2 days. The soar throat is gone but now I have a full blown cold - fever, headache, sneezing, runny/stuff nose, coughing, UGH. I have a ton of work to do so it’s completely ruining my mojo.
