This is absolutely hilarious and cringeworthy at the same time. So embarrassing!

Another late work night. But this awesome thing popped up in my RSS reader – it’s a sneak peak at functionality being developed by Adobe that basically deblurs an image and enhances it. Now if you work with images at all, you know that you can’t really restore visual details that don’t exist. That’s why it’s stupid when in TV shows and movies they take some obscure, super-blurry image and then enlarge and incredibly enhance it. Because that just isn’t possible.
But this is a step towards that:
Rain, go away, you’re ruining the US Open!
Wow what a mess. Since Monday afternoon, I’ve been struggling to fix problems with my computer. At a time when I’m woefully behind on work to the point of pissing off some clients – I’ve wasted 3 and a half days trying to fix my computer. And today I finally, FINALLY found the cause of the problems. Nerd story below.. if it helps out 1 person I’ll be happy.
Except it’s not. I’m busy as freaking heck right now and have been for the last 2 months. I wish there were more hours in the day and I had gotten more sleep this weekend, so I wouldn’t be so tired right now. I’m behind schedule on a lot of work and feeling a little burned out. I’ll probably take some time off at the end of the month or sometime next month.
So my electricity bill was through the roof this past month but this humidity is just unbearable. Right now, there’s thunder snapping like crazy, like really loud, enough to startle you. You’d think there was a wicked thunderstorm but there’s not one drop of rain and I can’t see the lightning because it’s sunny. What the heck is that about. I’m tired..
As is tradition every year I and hordes of tennis fans out there complain like crazy about NBC’s horrible coverage of the Men’s semifinal matches at the French Open. There now appears to be an improvement this year.
NBC is allowing the Tennis Channel to carry the first semifinal (Nadal vs Murray) live, in its entirety. That match starts at 8am EDT. Then, from 11am to 2pm EDT, NBC will carry the 2nd semifinal (Federer vs Djokovic), also live in its entirety, but only on the East coast. Unfortunately, in the West Coast, it’s still going to be on tape-delay.
BUT! This year NBC will livestream the Federer vs Djokovic match at NBCsports.com in its entirety as well so you can still watch the whole match live. It may not be on your TV, but it’s better than nothing. And certainly much better than in years past (2008 / 2009).
Wow. That guy is seriously overrated. Reference my post two years ago: Mike Brown is a Glorified Cheerleader. Yes the Cavs had great records but they also had Lebron James. And good assistant coaching staff. But their failures in the postseason can be directly attributed to a poor head coach. This is the wrong guy to lead the Lakers. But hey, Mr. Brown, please feel free to prove me (and a lot of other people) wrong. Why not Adelman? That guy managed to make the Rockets respectable without McGrady or Yao Ming. Oh well.
Russell Westbrook is good but what the hell? The superstar and go-to guy on the Thunder is Kevin Durant. It seriously doesn’t make sense that Durant sometimes doesn’t even touch the ball for long stretches and in clutch time. And you see Westbrook not making a single pass and driving in (and missing). It’s just plain dumb really. Someone put him in his place. Read.
Since both the Lakers (what a bummer) and Knicks are out, I’ve lost a lot of interest in the NBA playoffs. I just don’t want Miami to win. I’m thinking the Bulls are going to win the championship this year. I’m not feeling the Mavs or Thunder. And that leaves the Grizzlies but I think OKC is going to win. I guess by default I’m rooting for the Bulls since they’re playing Miami. Although I don’t like Dallas, I guess Dirk deserves a ring. But I don’t think they can beat Chicago. Eh, whatever.
I find it really strange that someone like Bin Laden didn’t have some type of rapid escape plan for exactly the type of raid the United States conducted that ended with his death. You would assume the most wanted fugitive on the planet would expect that some day the U.S. might figure out where he is and go in after him. So maybe some type of underground tunnel or something. I mean they even built that whole compound he was living in. The fact that he did not have such contingencies makes it seem like he felt safe there, which would indicate the Pakistani government or elements in the government and its intelligence agencies knew he was there and and were providing safe haven for him. Something tells me the Pakistanis didn’t really believe the U.S. would go in unilaterally or at least would notify Pakistan beforehand, giving them time to warn Bin Laden.
But of course, this is all speculation and conspiracy theory stuff. Just wondering out loud. For Bin Laden to be surprised in the middle of the night with just 3 men with him, he must have felt relatively safe and did not expect a raid like that to happen. Very odd.
