Have a read: New York Knicks: Looking back on how the offseason plan failed
When they let Jeremy Lin go, I was kind of pissed. But then they went and built the OLDEST team in the NBA and somehow thought they had a shot at the championship in an age where the sport is more athletic than ever. And they just kept getting older, adding a retiree like Rasheed Wallace and recently, Kenyon Martin. I am absolutely shocked to see Camby is getting $13m over 3 years. What the hell were they smoking?
Look at guys like Danilo Gallinari and David Lee, young guys that showed a lot of promise, that the Knicks traded away. The Knicks thought they could pull a Miami Heat and just buy stars and somehow win a championship. Problem is Anthony, Stoudemire, and Chandler are not on the same level as James, Wade, and Bosh. I like Tyson Chandler but I didn’t like the Melo and Stoudemire acquisitions from the beginning. Melo had a great coach and good team in Dnever. He never showed he could lift his team and never got past the first round. And there is good reason Stoudemire’s contract is uninsured – that should’ve been a big red flag. Well now the Knicks see how wonderful those knees of his are.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the Knicks goes down again in the first round of the playoffs. The Knicks showed a lot of promise early on this season, but they have an incredible knack for lifting their fans expectations, only to fail completely.
