Wow. I don’t know what else to say. I’m feeling a mixture of happiness, relief, and real hope for the next 8 years.
Wow, what a race! Jason Lezak pulled off a miracle and overtook Alain Bernard of France. Damn, that was exciting.

Bill Clinton got impeached for lying about the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal. Bush lied to the whole country and the world to justify launching a costly, poorly planned, preemptive, and ILLEGAL war. The US invaded a sovereign nation that posed no threat, in violation of domestic and international law and the UN charter. Regardless of everything else this war criminal has done, why hasn’t he been impeached yet? It’s shameful that neither Democratic leadership nor mainstream media are willing to pay more attention to this. This isn’t about politics, it’s a matter of duty to this country – Bush AND Cheney need to be held accountable for their crimes.
Interesting thoughts on US foreign policy by Noam Chomsky. His point is basically that the United States is not a real democratic state and the US makes its policy decisions based on the arrogant, ridiculous assumption that it owns the world, regardless of domestic or foreign opinions. And no one, at least not in the media, ever questions this. Title may seem confusing so to be clear, I am completely against most of this administration’s policies.
