Hi Phil,

My name is Frank Walter and I am the Vice President of Customer Operations at Xoom. I read your post yesterday and wanted to respond. First of all I wanted to apologize for the technical issue you referenced – it is true that we experienced a systemic error that resulted in duplicate charges to clients who used a coupon that was intended to provide a free transaction. We identified the problem and corrected it within a few hours, however, about 200 customers were impacted. We refunded each customer and regret the inconvenience this error caused.

More importantly, however, I want you to know that I unfortunately agree with your assessment of the grim level of service you endured when you engaged our organization and apologize for the frustration you experienced. I acknowledge we are currently not delivering the quality of service we know you and the rest of our customers deserve and I agree this absolutely unacceptable. I have recently joined Xoom and am solely focused on re-engineering our customer support experience. We have several initiatives underway which I am confident will dramatically improve our support capabilities, including implementing a new training model, building new tools that will improve our support team’s effectiveness and expanding our staffing models to ensure calls and emails are responded to in a timely manner. I have been in the support industry for over 15 years and know exactly what kind of support our customers expect, not to mention the quality of support I expect as a customer myself. I am confident we will see the level of service Xoom provides improve significantly in the next few months. My email address is Frank.Walter [at] xoom.com - please feel free to contact me if you would like to continue this discussion.

Thanks

My NP-20 battery lasted for over 2 years, then developed the problem described above. For all the people who did the right thing and called Casio during the warranty period, they got a free replacement, so, the company fixed the issue...what good would a recall do? Does anyone think that a recall means they come to your home and replace the battery in your camera for you? Do you think they go door-to-door and ask if you have a Casio camera?

Nobody here mentioned getting their hands on a confidential internal memo titled "How we put the screws to those people who bought our cameras"...

They might know that a more than average amount of people called in with a problem on the NP-20 battery but who here knows how many were sold vs. had a problem? I don't, I also didn't read it in anyone's comments.

Kudos to Casio for offering a free advanced replacement mailed to your homes without the need to have the original battery first!

Also, thanks to those who posted the 9V conditioning info for people, that's what commercial battery conditioners do, feed a little more voltage into the battery to "wake" the cells up for charging.

Ethics...the people who mentioned ethics have no idea what that is...

OK I had Comcast for about a week. It's nice to be able to watch youtube and listen to net radio without the connection going dead.
As for the online gaming Modern warfare 2 for the PS3's bad, but not as bad as it was with the DSL. I'm reading lots of people have problems with PS3 online. I hope Sony can fix it soon, or maybe I got to replace that with a 360? Times too important to deal with junk.

hey all. izzie again. ive been reading through all these posts and i just wanted to comment on what ashley said. she really hit on a good point when she says that us guys shouldn't just end the friendship with a girl just because our expectations and hopes of love were smashed into a million pieces. i think it's so true that there's a reason why these girls want us in their lives as friends. a lot of the time romantic relationships start and fizzle down, usually ending in hurt feelings and burnt bridges. as for frienships, if both people sacrifice and are honest with each other, they will last for a very long time. i know it sucks when you feel like you're being taken for granted. sometimes when i don't hear from this certain someone for days i feel like im being used. i ask myself "does she really care?" and "does she really mean what she says when she says she values our friendship more than almost anything in her life."? i can go on and on....

it's like i need more proof from her that she's not just using me. like i feel that if im such a good friend and that she can turn to me for anything, then wouldn't it make sense for us to be together?
after all, isnt that what any girl would want in a romantic relationship? consistency, care, security, comapssion, loyalty...? so what's the deal ladies? seriously. i guess it's true what they say that men are from mars and women are from venus. why do i even bother trying to figure it all out anyhow? i just end up dizzy and hella frustrated. one thing i do know for sure is that i don't wanna be a dark spot in her life. i wanna be someone that lifts her up when she's down; that is always there when there's no one else to turn to; that knows just what to say and just what to do to make her die laughing; that never judges or expects her to be anything but herself; that is a constant and consistent positive male influence in her life; that maybe reminds her of her dad or older brother; that will love her with all his heart even when she feels like she's not worth it; that will never leave her side just because i didn't get the answer or outcome i was looking for....

as im sitting her in this hotel room, i cant help but look at my phone over and over. is the volume all the way up? how many bars do i have? she said she was going to text (which was 9 hours ago). is she with him? then my heart twists and burns, and the fire slowly trickles down my gut and my eyes water up, again and again. although i now realize this.... she needs me, and i should stop being selfish.

no matter what happens in our relationship, ill always be there for her, because you never know. years down the line when my name crosses her mind, i want her heart to be filled with happiness and her lips to smile that cute little smile, cause she knows im still there. i cant be selfish. God put me in her life for a reason, and if that reason calls for me to just be her friend, then im honored and privileged to be that man in her life. to be a man is to sacrifice and realize. to realize that the hope and love you give her will last her a lifetime, and boyfriends come and go. there's always a possibility that something will happen between us, and that's good enough for me.

much love guys and girls... spread the love and encourage each other. i always try and remember that it's not all about me.

I got the Verizon 3mbps service and home phone package. I wasn't happy with the deal I got though them from the get go. The home phone service is a joke I asked if I can get voice box and caller id at the time of order, they said yes, and when the service started I found out they don't have a voice box in my area, and the caller id always showed "number unknown" or what ever it was? The DSL started out OK, but for about the last 7 month it's really bad can't watch videos too good, and unusable for online games. to really rub it in they canceled my DSL for $10 for the first 6 month because I changed my worthless home home service to the one without voice box and caller id.
I'm getting Comcast cable now for the internet and phone. I tried it out in my area and works lots better. I know about the cap or what ever your suppose to hate about them, but I'd rather have limited good service over unlimited junk.

DSL is crap, I'm tired of playing xbox 360 and getting disconnected every five seconds. It goes off about 25 times a day. They've sent out 5 people to try to fix it and it never works. Whenever i call i get some "Prince Alababa" who can't speak a lick of English. They just suck, their unreliable.

oh yes... definitely been in this situation before. it's true that once you get to a certain point in a friendship, and you haven't clued her in as to how strongly you feel, it is nearly impossible for you two to be more than just good friends. The guy that's always there for her, that she turns to for everything, that she calls of texts constantly when she's goin through stuff with her bf; yet, when all is peachy keen she is nowhere to be found. story of my life. it's just the way it is. in a way...im honored to be someone they can turn to when they're down, but it's hard. it's innate to want and be wanted by someone else, and when you're friendship and loyalty is being taken for granted, you sometimes just don't know how to feel. this is a hard situation to be in. but i think it is so beautiful. it's life. im always gonna be the nice guy, no matter how much other dudes say i should be an a-hole to get girls, im not gonna change cause i know there are girls out there who know what's real. and if she doesn't, than someone else will. but i know....it's FREAKIN TORTURE! haha! take care peoples!

“Heroes” is completely devoid of a plot and has too many useless story lines proceeding in parallel. You get a couple minutes of story line, then commercials, a couple minutes of a different story line, more commercials, etc., and then that week's episode is over. With so many story lines crawling along at the same time, the show drags at a snail’s pace and is completely boring. I can't take all the jumping around from story to story and nothing ever happens; no progress towards any plot. Watching Heroes is like watch A.D.D. TV (Attention Deficit Disorder).
