Site Updates
Upgrade to Wordpress 2.5.1
I’ve upgraded the site to the latest version of Wordpress (2.5.1). I also converted the collation on the MySQL tables to UTF-8. I haven’t noticed any problems so far but if anyone notices garbled text, please let me know or post a comment.
Upgrading to Wordpress 2.3
Sometime tonight or tomorrow I’ll be upgrading the site to the latest version of Wordpress so you may notice issues with website access during the upgrade. Chances are you won’t even notice, but this is just a heads up. I’m also making a couple of changes on the backend to lay the groundwork for a complete redesign sometime in the near future. I’ll also be recoding the XHTML/CSS and the Wordpress theme, changing the navigation, and moving all the static pages over to Wordpress Pages. There will be some visual changes, but nothing too dramatic.
Working on the Site
I’ll be working on this site so you may notice errors or sudden theme changes. It’ll just mean I’m fidgeting with stuff on the backend.
New Site is Up
You can probably notice on your own but the new website is now up. This is officially the 7th version of PhilHuang.com. If you find any bugs or problems, let me know. My blog now uses Wordpress which is a million times better than Movable Type. Everything is XHTML 1.0 Transitional and extremely customizable.
The picture gallery is up for now but I’m going to be playing around with the template when I have time, so it won’t fully be up for about a week or so.
New Site Coming Soon
In the next few days, I will be making a new version of philhuang.com powered by Wordpress instead of Movable Type. This will allow for web standards comformity and more flexible back-end. There will be a new design as well (officially the 7th version of philhuang.com). So the entire site may become inaccessible sometime in the next few days.
Blog is up
I finally got the blog back up. Nothing much to post now. It took a while to get everything exactly the way I wanted it. I still have to change the template for the archive and comment pages. Anyway that’s about it for now.
Futile Comment Spam
I don’t know if you comment spammers are reading this since most of it is done with bots but you should really give up. Not one of your comment spams have gotten through. You could hit me up with 50 and it would be a matter of 2 clicks to get rid of all of it. Haven’t you noticed that it’s not working? I’m really amazed at how persistent spammers are. The more you spam this blog, the more comprehensive my filters get. So you’re basically helping my anti-spam measures become more effective. Thanks!
