I Hate Driving

I’m not afraid to say that one of my flaws might be my impatience in certain situations. Like driving. I don’t know what it is but I just want to get from point A to point B in the least amount of time with the least amount of obstructions. Other drivers and other cars just piss me off. Traffic lights annoy me. Stop signs annoy me. I hate having to hit the brake. It’s funny because I yell at other drivers but they can’t even hear me. A lot of things bother me about other drivers, and trust me there are a lot of bad drivers out there.

Things That Annoy Me When Driving:

• When people don’t signal before they turn or change lanes. OMG, please signal well ahead of time if you’re turning - especially if it’s going to be hard for me to change lanes while you’re waiting to turn. Don’t expect me to let you cut in front of me if you don’t signal. I’M NOT A DAMN PSYCHIC. Seriously, some people drive like they’re the only ones on the road. The whole point of signaling is to make others around you aware of what you’re doing - this simple idea is so hard for some people to understand (stupidity, ignorance, I don’t know).
• On the highway when everyone’s going 60 and you’re going like 45. Please get the hell out of the way. Double piss on you if you’re in the fast lane going slow. GET OUT OF THE WAY!
• When there’s an exit lane and people go on the faster lane next to it and then try to cut in at the end. Trust me, you are NOT getting in front of me - you wait just like the rest of us or you’re screwed pal. Same thing goes when there’s highway traffic delays and people go onto the incoming lane, then cut back in.
• When people honk the second a light turns green. I’m sorry but I can’t accelerate from 0-40 in half a second so I’m sorry you have to wait.
• People who just stop in the middle of the road or double park blocking the entire road (one-way streets). Do you even realize what you’re doing? I could be driving through but you’re blocking me and wasting my time. GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY. If there’s one thing I absolutely HATE, it’s OTHER people wasting MY time.
• This one’s not about drivers but pedestrians, especially in Flushing, NY. If it’s a green light, you should not be crossing the street. Do you want to get run over?! Can’t you see the crosswalk sign signaling “don’t walk”? And the nerve of some people to look at you like you’re supposed to stop and let them pass. It’s a GREEN and I’m going to GO, get out of the way if you like your legs.

Anyway, that’s what I’ve come up with off the top of my head. I can honestly say I NEVER do any of things I’ve mentioned above. It’s true that having a car is very convenient but I must say I don’t particularly like driving. And gas prices, we set a new record every day while Big Oil laughs all the way to the bank - build some new refineries maybe? You know crude oil prices are dropping but gas prices keep going up and the oil companies are posting record profits. I would support some type of regulation on the industry - this is getting ridiculous.
