Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I hope you all had a merry Christmas and I wish everyone a happy new year!
IE8 Passes Acid2 Test
Many of us web designers/developers never thought we’d witness Internet Explorer pass the Acid2 rendering test but Microsoft announced yesterday via IEBlog that their internal version of IE8 has done just that. Now if they could push this browser out sooner, it’d be great because the sooner IE6 gets ditched, the better.
Crazy Busy
It’s been nuts since Thanksgiving. Many of my clients decided to send me new work immediately after Thanksgiving. Not that it’s a bad thing, but it’s all coming at the same time and I’m having trouble meeting deadlines. Seems like everyone wants to get this stuff expensed before the tax year ends. I’m even working weekends! My sacred weekend!
Great Short Story - “The Last Question”
This is one of the best short stories I’ve read - it’s called “The Last Question” by Isaac Asimov.
First Snow of Winter 2006
I woke up this morning to be surprised that it snowed during the night. It just doesn’t feel like winter until it snows. It’s also been warmer than usual (I haven’t even worn my winter coat yet).
Philip With One L
Why do people take it upon themselves to add an extra L to my name when it only has one? Even when I fill out forms with one L, I often end up seeing resulting documentation with my name mispelled. 95% of the time when I see my name elsewhere it’s only one L so why do people seem to lean towards 2 L’s?
Insomnia
I’ve been dealing with a bout of insomnia for the past month or so. I just can’t get myself to sleep until around 4-5 am every single night. On occassion I’ve been up until 6 am. On weekends I can at least sleep in and get a bit more sleep but on weekdays I obviously have to get up and work. This is making me really tired during the day and I can notice black areas under my eyes. My glasses kind of mask it but without glasses it’s kind of noticeable. Just not really a healthy look.
Crow Invasion
My front AND back yards are packed with crows right now and a lot of them are flying around randomly. Two other yards across the street are also filled with them. It’s kind of creepy! What the heck is up with these crows gathering like this?
Happy Thanksgiving
Have a great Thanksgiving weekend everybody!
