My mother in law, who does not speak english well, keeps getting spam letters in the mail such as this new one from Spain. I can't believe people have the mind to actually try and screw such innocent, uninformed people. IT's sad. Her letter, dated October 12, 2008, said she won $915,000.00 Euros. It was from "Vice president General Jose Luis Perez", and her claims agent is "Mr. Juston Xiva". This lottery is a scam, and hopefully people will learn, and no one else will ever fall for this again. Ugghhh… My mother in law, who does not speak english well, keeps getting spam letters in the mail such as this new one from Spain. A few months after dad died my mother sent another 20k over to claim it. We can't watch our parent all the time...They are just as vulnerable as our teens....Shame to die with debt and on an sham....but worse off...my family hates me for telling them it was a scam and calling the police.....There's got to be a way to leave our elderly alone....Now mom owes 5k in phone bills to Spain to the "nice" man!! ...omg...please help us all.. Sad that some people actually go for this scam, but if they cant smell 150 different signs of scam that this letter smells of then i guess the deserve it. I googled all the names in the letter, not surprisingly none of them came up with any hits(other than post like this saying it's a scam) I remember i got the same crap on e-mail once, it was from netherlands(Holland) saying that i won 12 million euoros, haha. The mail said to copy my passport and all my bank info and mail it back. I mean, why don't they just call the mail "scam" and write this: "hi, i'm going to scam you out of all your savings, please send me all your info that i need to pull this scam off" Anyway, i geve the letter to the cops, they sent it to international department of crime or something, doubt that they will find any connection to who sent it, but maybe they at least warn the people. got the same letter, the weird thing is that they have everyones adress to send it as a letter. I reply them back with an email, they aswered me in immediate affect, with all congragulations from staff again.. it was an email from madrid spain, with yahoo account... They send me so many documents to fill up and tring to convince me with stupid copied certificates.. I was near to believe I talked with a man and a woman,, they were so kind,, but i was suprised when saw a request of some amount of money.. after send money I dont know you, you dont know me.. I have no freakin clue how these people even got my address! Sadly I can't afford to get to Madrid to sign the fund legalization documents so I guess no big win for me. Seriously though, this is terrible. I know better than to trust this piece of paper, but some people don't... it looks pretty convincing in some ways, even has a real signature and everything.
