At Home for the Holidays

I just came home for winter break last night. It was a surprisingly short trip, compared to the 7-1/2 hour debacle last time. This time it only took just over 4 hours which is really fast for a Ithaca-NYC trip AND I had 2 seats to myself. So it was a pleasant ride this time. There was this pretty Korean girl sitting next to me across the aisle (funny how you can always tell if a girl is Korean). I felt like starting a chat with her but considering her boyfriend was sitting behind me, maybe it wouldn’t have been a good idea. The bus TV’s showed Paycheck so I watched it for like the 4th time and slept the rest of the time. I really don’t know why I’ve seen that movie so many times, I don’t even think it’s that good. Circumstances have forced me to watch the movie 4 times - what the hell. Ben Affleck, could you please make some decent movies?

The other day I was looking at some old pictures from about a year ago and I really noticed I was chubbier. It’s amusing and a bit scary to think that at one point I was 20 pounds heavier than I am right now. I’m 166 lbs. now which is quite a personal feat because I’m actually stronger and more fit than I’ve ever been and I haven’t weighed less than 170 since sophomore year of high school. It definitely helps to have a gym buddy or else I don’t think I’d be able to get myself to the gym. That’s probably the biggest hurdle for most people, actually getting yourself to the gym regularly. Actually, at the beginning of the year there’s usually a gym membership boom because everyone makes New Year resolutions about losing weight. Wonder how many of those resolutions are kept? :-)

Happy Holidays - peace, love and all that good stuff to all!
