The Best Thing Happened Today

Okay, as some of you know, I took a summer class in June at Cornell. This class was COMM 263, called Organizational Writing. Overall, it was pretty easy. Anyway, there was a final project where we worked in groups. While waiting to hear our grade on the project (which we don’t have yet), one of my group members sends out an email saying grades were out. He was referring to our grades for the class. As more of a background, your GPA (grade point averages) is calculated based on the number of credits you have and the grade you receive for the class. So for example, a 4-credit class carries more weight than a 3-credit class when calculating the GPA. Now for the good part…

I logged in to my record to check my grade. Good news was that I got an A. I pretty much expected at least an A- but I think the teacher liked me and we probably did well on the final project. I knew I did well so I wasn’t really concerned with the grade. But that wasn’t it, now for even better news…

This class is 3 credits but apparently the teacher or some administrative staff must have entered the number of credits wrong. So this course is currently listed as a 30-credit course on my transcript! This means I just got 30 credits worth of A’s lumped into my GPA. The error has given my pathetic GPA a HUGE boost! I know it’ll eventually be corrected it but I was pleasantly surprised to see an A for a 30-credit course on my transcript.

Yea I know for sure someone’s going to correct it, but it’s still fun to see an A for a 30-credit course on your transcript.
