Another Weekend Debacle

So anyway, last Saturday, I went to Six Flags with a bunch of friends. It was supposed to be a really fun day. But it didn’t really turn out that great.

The few days before Saturday, I was cramming a lot of work so I could go on this trip. I practically wasn’t sleeping at all, I was doing superhuman amounts of school work. I’m actually quite impressed by that part. But I slept 30 minutes on Thursday night and an hour on Friday night because I got home from a group project at 4 AM and we left for Binghamton at 5 AM. We went to Bing, met up with people, and jetted off to Six Flags. We actually made it in about 5 hours which is pretty good, considering we were going like 85 mph and weaving through traffic the entire time.

So we get there pretty late and while waiting for the first ride, we decide to get off the line, because it wasn’t worth the wait. But one of the girls with us tripped over the bar and twisted her leg. It turns out the next day, she went to the hospital, and there was a fracture in her knee! The Six Flags first aid said it was a pulled muscle and took about 15 minutes to come.

I think no one got enough sleep, and we were tired and waiting a long time on rides. They kept closing down a lot of rides for testing and it was really frustrating. I did get to go on Superman, which was a really cool ride, you actually feel like you’re flying. It’s not scary, but it’s still really cool. My housemate lost his phone on Superman though so that really sucked.

I go to Six Flags Great Adventure practically every year but I wanted my friends to enjoy the rides. We didn’t get to go on Nitro because the wait was too long, and Medusa and Batman were closed. We also went on Batman and Robin and Scream Machine. I would have to say the most fun part of the day was when we all went on bumper cars and caused chaos! When we were done, there was a huge pileup of bumper cars! It was hilarious. There was a lady calling out the numbers for our cars if we were going the wrong direction. Everyone ignored her, and she couldn’t call out numbers fast enough.

Later that night, 5 guys and 4 girls piled into one room at Ramada Inn. It was actually a pretty nice room. It took FOREVER for everyone to shower (girls, what can you do) and everyone was just so tired. I ended being one of two guys sleeping on a bed. It was funny, because we agreed that the girls would get one bed and the guys would get the other bed. But all the guys started saying “I call the couch!” for some reason. So I was just called the bed without much opposition. Anyway, I slept 3 hours, got up at 6 am, and headed back.

To be continued tomorrow.
