Summer Plans

I don’t know whether I should get a corporate job over the summer or do my own thing. I’m really leaning toward working on starting my own business. I really don’t like working for people for several reasons. I don’t like being supervised and watched over. I don’t like that the my hard work earns appreciation for my superiors when they had nothing to do with it. I don’t like that my work may be judged by people even less qualified than I am on the subject matter. I don’t like not having complete freedom. I don’t like that I would have to report to a superior. I don’t like being issued orders. You could say I have an aversion to authority.

Of course it’s comfortable and secure to work 9 to 5 with a steady income. But I want to be entrepreneurial and independent. I want to work on my own time. I can never put 100% into my own projects while school is in session because there’s just so much else going on. I want to spend my summer working on a business of my own and hopefully earn some spending money to make life easier, being the poor college student that I am.

Plus, I hate job interviews, probably because I’m not that great at them.
